Oct 08: On top of Bala Hissar, which means fortress on top. This ancient mud, brick, and stone wall dates back over 1,000 years. Many battles have been fought here between the Afghans and the British, the Russians, and in their civil wars of the past. The buildings to the left are the offices and classrooms of the Afghan National Army Intelligence Training Center which is located here.
