Dec 08: A view over the southeast part of Kabul City taken from Bala Hissar, about 7:30 at sunrise. The layer of haze you see lying close to the ground is mostly smoke from all the fires and stoves that the homes and business crank up at night and through the morning to for heat and cooking...and light at night...many areas only get electricity every 3rd night for about 3 hours in the evening. And, they burn anything and everything from wood to car tires, trash...anything that will burn. The EPA would go nuts here...
